Upper White Water Falls, North Carolina

ISO 100, 44mm on 18-55mm, f22, 60s, k&f ND filter. Edit in lightroom.

For this photo I used a k&f variable ND filter and a very small aperture to leave the shutter open for as long as I could to really capture the flow of the water over the falls, creating a look of mist or fog pouring over the rocks. I used lightroom to desaturate all of the colors and then bring back just a touch of color in the rocks. With the natural light (and a very slight boost from a radial gradient) in the top left corner your eyes can’t help but to follow the falls. This print pairs excellently with modern style interior designs of greys and blacks.
